Gulf Coast Camping in Alabama Gulf Coast camping in Alabama is the best! We have camped at Dauphin Island Park. This campground is on a Gulf Coast barrier Island. It has Tree-lined paths that lead from your camp site to snow-white beaches and is attached to the Audubon Bird Sanctuary which has a huge amount of beautiful walking paths. There are free boat launches, a fishing pier and Historic Fort Gaines just a short walk away. Just across the street is the Dauphin Island Sea Lab .
